Shopping for carpet, hardwood, laminate, vinyl, tile or area rugs can be lots of fun. After all, it’s one of the most affordable and dramatic ways to change the look of any room. The good news is there’s more than ever to choose from, including eco-friendly cork, textural berber, exotic hardwoods and vinyl resilient. The not-so-good news is that with so many choices you could feel overwhelmed; that is, unless you plan ahead using Rite Rug’s Shopping Checklist.

• Take a digital photo of the room from several angles and in different lighting. No camera? Make a simple drawing.
• Gather paint chips, fabric swatches and wallpaper samples
• Go through magazines or ads and tear out photos of rooms that inspire or excite you.
