Back in the 1930s when the Goldberg brothers opened their first Rite Rug store at the corner of Cherry and High streets in downtown Columbus, Ohio, the average home had a hardwood floor with the occasional rug placed here and there.
By the 1960s, wall-to-wall carpeting came onto the scene, changing the way we view flooring forever.
