We’re Blushing for Benjamin Moore’s 2020 Color of the Year
A symbol of hope for the new decade ahead — Benjamin Moore has revealed a rosy pink as their color of the year for 2020.
“A fresh palette. A revitalized spirit. A soft, rosy hue blooming with potential.” Benjamin Moore hopes that their pick ’First Light’ will become “the backdrop for a bright new decade.”
It’s Benjamin Moore’s first time selecting pink for their color of the year, but it’s not a surprising choice. Pink has been popping up everywhere over the last few years throughout the world of design — from chic office spaces, to soft furnishings, and Instagram-famous brick walls.
With slightly blue undertones, ‘First Light’ is nuanced and elegant. Benjamin Moore describes it as “a neutral that floats between warm and cool,” making it easy to pair with almost anything. The soft light created from this chameleon pink is both flattering and inviting — pairing well with just about any color flooring.
‘Fresh Light’ feels timeless and romantic when coupled with dark rustic hardwoods, and evokes a sense of calm and modernity when matched with blonde or grey-toned flooring.
For a burst of color, try painting an entire room. A dining room feels unexpected and memorable in pink, while a powder room feels feminine and warm. Or if you just want to test the pink waters, go for a bedroom accent wall or intimate dressing room.
A fresh and fun alternative to white, gray, and beige — this beautiful blush hue just might be our new go-to.
